Come Join the Rowing Club at NC State!
Aside from being a great way to get in shape, rowing is an excellent way to meet new people, and a chance to travel and compete all over the East Coast. The team travels as far south as Orlando (for Spring Break) and as far north as Boston for the Head of the Charles Regatta.
Rowing is a year-round, co-ed sport with equal representation from both sexes. There are many misconceptions about the sport of rowing because it is not a mainstream collegiate sport. The first of many is that rowers require a lot of upper body strength. On the contrary, the best rowers have very strong legs and are typically above average in height. Don't let this prevent you form joining, though! Many members of our team have won against people much taller and stronger than themselves. Rowing takes mental strength as well as physical strength, and the team will help you get there.
This fall we will have three interest meetings where you can learn more about the team:
- Tuesday, August 15th at 3:30pm
- Thursday, August 17th at 5:00pm
- Saturday, August 19th at 3:00pm
All of these meetings will take place in Carmichael classroom 2017. If you don't know where this is, look for rowers holding signs here, in front of Talley Student Union.
If you can't make it to any of those meetings, click "Open Form" below and fill in your information so we can get in touch with you!
